More than 2500 runners wearing Santa Claus costumes started on December 8th as the spectacular sport event kicked off for the 6th time in downtown Budapest. Blikk, the leading Hungarian daily not only became the new title sponsor of the Santa Claus Run, but it also supported two charity activities within the popular event: the daily donated 500 HUF after each entry and contributed with a total of 1,5 million HUF to the work of the Bátor Tábor Foundation. Besides, Blikk also participated in the fundraising for ÁGOTA ® Foundation and collected more than 1200 toys, books, sweets, and school supplies for the charity organization.
On December 8th, 2019, for the 6th time, thousands of runners covered the streets of Budapest in Santa Claus costumes. Participants of the Blikk Santa Claus Run were able to choose from different distances this year: the 700-meter race was ideal for families with small children and the 2.3 km race was waiting for those who like real challenges. The organizers provided the classic, warm red Santa Claus costume for every runner to whom an exclusive Blikk Goodie Bag was also waiting for.
Participants in this year’s run had the opportunity to contribute to the success of two charity activities.
Blikk offered 500 HUF after each entry of the Santa Claus Run for the Bátor Tábor Foundation supporting seriously ill children and their families with experiences that strengthen their healing. As a result of the successful fundraising activity, the leading Hungarian daily raised 1.5 million HUF for the foundation. Besides, runners could actively participate in the charity activity supporting ÁGOTA ® Foundation by placing toys, sweets, books and school supplies in a giant gift bag at the venue. With the joint efforts of Blikk, the organizers collected more than 1200 gifts, which will be donated to disadvantaged children and children in state care.
