Balázs Kolossváry, who already managed the market-leading daily from 2014-2016, will return to the position of editor-in-chief of Blikk from 4th August. The current editor-in-chief, Norbert Gedei, will remain a member of the editorial board as deputy editor-in-chief.
On 4th August, Balázs Kolossváry – who already held the same position in the leading daily newspaper between 2014-2016 – will return to the role of the editor-in-chief of Blikk. The current EiC, Norbert Gedei, who has held the position since Kolossváry left in 2016 – will remain with the board of the editorial team: as deputy general editor-in-chief, he will play a key role in operational management and will be responsible for Blikk’s digital content.
The new editor-in-chief’s primary mission is to preserve Blikk’s 20 years market leadership as an independent media product and to take advantage of the editorial and publishing synergies to further strengthen content, while maintaining Blikk’s character as an entertaining and public press organ.
Let me greet Balázs Kolossváry again at Blikk, who is practically a rooted Blikk colleague and is returning to his brand now. He has a serious professional experience in tabloid journalism and his professional successes are largely due to his commitment and consistent leadership. I believe that he will form an excellent partnership with Norbert Gedei whose skills and experience in digital content production are also unquestionable. It is an extraordinary task to lead the editorial work of Hungary’s leading independent daily newspaper and its online platform, as Blikk is the news source for more than half a million print readers and an average of about 700 thousand online visitors. Knowing these two colleagues, I know that the editorial staff and our readers in good hands, said Tibor Kovács, CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Hungary, publisher of Blikk.
Before returning to Blikk, Balázs Kolossváry had been the editor-in-chief of Story magazine and Best magazine between May 2016 and May 2020. From 2014 until April 2016 he was the editor-in-chief of Blikk. Previously, he had worked for the paper for sixteen years in various professional positions. In recent years, he has not only practiced but also taught the knowledge of tabloid journalism on media courses. He began his career at Nemzeti Sport newspaper in 1994 as a sports journalist.
